Nicco Montano Physically Assaulted but Safe

 On her Instagram story Nicco Montano’s has announced she’s been assaulted.

The inaugural UFC Women’s Flyweight champion Nicco Montano is currently in the hospital getting checked out and is expected to be released after facial X-rays according to her Manager Ricky Kottenstette of President of Dinami Management.

The horrendous encounter has happened in Texas and the assailant is believed to be an acquaintance of Montano’s. It’s unknown at this time if the assailant has been apprehended. After being released from the hospital its expected that Montano will be returning to Albuquerque.

Due to a slew of illnesses and injuries Montano hasn’t fought since 2019. The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after being let go of by the UFC earlier this year.

Recently Montano’s name had been in headlines after the release of the Warrior Spirit documentary which highlighted the issue of weigh-cutting in MMA instead of telling the story of the first Native American UFC champion as expected. Montano has even recently spoke out against a scene in the film, in which she is nude. The film maker has said the scene is going to be blurred.
