Volkanovski-Holloway 3 & Sterling-Yan on tap for UFC 272
A championship double head of rematches is slated to geadlined March’s UFC 272.
For the third time Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski & Max “Blessed” Holloway will batting for the UFC Featherweight world title. The Australian Born champion is on a 20-fight win streak. At UFC 245 Volkanovski shocked the world when he dethroned Holloway by decision. Pundits where even more divided when score cards in the rematch also went in favor of “The Great”. After coaching the Ultimate Fighter & surviving quite the bout with Covid, Volkanovski overcame the mighty challenge of Brain Ortega in an instant classic. Four-months after losing the rematch Holloway put on master class in striking in defeating Calvin Kattar in the main event of the first UFC on ABC. Holloway continued to amaze as he beat Yair Rodriguez in November in an edge of your seat thriller
Sterling ran his current win streak to six in a row and captured the UFC bantamweight this past march when he was illegally knee head to the head by Petr Yan. The blow resulted in a neck injury that kept Sterling sidelined for the rest of the year, including forcing the “Funk Master” to withdraw from a scheduled rematch at UFC 267. Yan remained on the UFC 267 card hammering Cory Sandhagen with crisp punches to earn the interim bantamweight title.
