UFC Returns to Singapore with a Championship Doubleheader

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is returning to Southeast Asia and bring the biggest card they’ve brought to the market.

UFC 275 will be on June 11th at the Singapore Indoor Arena. This will be the first numbered UFC event and UFC title fights to happen in that part of the world.

The main event will see Jiri Prochazka challenging Glover Teixeira for the UFC Light-Heavyweight championship. The challenger is a 29-year-old from the Czech Republic whose on a 12-fight win streak. During his UFC tenure the former Rizin champion has defeated title challengers Volkan Oezdemir & Dominick Reyes. The champion, Glover Teixeira a universally respected and liked figure in the MMA community went from gate keeper to atop the division. A five-fight win streak positioned the 42-year-old for his second world title fight. This time Teixeria wouldn’t be denied dethroning Jan Blachowicz by second round rear naked choke.

The co-main event will the pound for pound number one ranked female fighter in MMA Valentina Shevchenko will defend the UFC Women’s Flyweight title against number five ranked contender Taila Santos. Create the bullet “has run rough shot over the division with six successful title defenses. Santos earns her title shot on the strength of of a four fight wins streak topped by submitting Joanne Wood.

In one other steamy treat top ranked middleweight will battle as former champion, number one ranked, Australian Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker will square off with number three ranked, Italian, Marvin “The Italian Dream” Vettori.
