Featherweight Trilogy Agreed to for International Fight Week

UFC International Fight Week is known for giving fans matchups they been demanding. In step with that line of thinking the highly anticipated Featherweight trilogy between Champion Alexander Volkanovski and challenger Max Holloway has been tabbed to headline UFC 276.

The trilogy bout had been scheduled for UFC 273 but Holloway was forced off the card due to injury. Volkanovski remain in the main event putting on a remarkable display, taking apart replacement Chan Sung Jung with a spearing jab. The performance was so impressive it felt like gap between the champion and his competition had only gotten bigger over his three title defenses.

Since losing a pair of highly contested decisions to the champion Holloway has definitely proven himself to be the number one contender. “Blessed” headlined the first UFC on ABC putting on a striking clinic in overwhelming Calvin Kattar and reminded us of his grappling in defeating Yair Rodriguez.

UFC 276 is scheduled for July 2nd at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
