The Accor Arena in Paris France host Bellator 280. The 13-fight card is headlined by France’s Cheick Kongo challenging Ryan Bader for the Bellator world Heavyweight title.
The two met back in September of 2019. A fight that didn’t get out of the first round as an accidental eye poke from Bader to Kongo lead to the fighting ending in a no contest. Bader returned to the Heavyweight division after an unsuccessful entry into the Bellator Light-Heavyweight World Grand Prix. Back in the land of the giants Bader defeated interim Heavyweight Valentin Moldavsky in January to unify the championship. This past August Kongo solidified his number one contender status submitting Sergei Kharitonov by rear naked choke.
