LFA 139 features Assenza vs. Melo
Legacy Fighting Alliance has announced they’ll be returning to the Empire State and they’re bringing a high-stakes Lightweight match-up to headline the card.
LFA 139 takes place Friday, August 19th from the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York. The main event for the company’s 2nd trip to “Niagra Falls” is one of international proportions as Canadian Adam “Maverick” Assenza facing Brazil’s Junior “The Fortaleza Kid” Melo.
Over the last three years the “Maverick” has found his stride winning six-fights in a row over high caliber competition. Defeating such names as UFC vet Cody Pfister and LFA vets Hamilton Ash & Dominick Clark. Knocking out Clark in the first round opened eye wide enough for Assenza to have his promotional debut in the main event. Melo is a BJJ black belt with 100% finishing rate. “The Fortaleza Kid” made his promotional debut on 4 days’ notice shocking the crowd as the grappler scored a first-round knockout over his renowned striking counterpart.
