Patricky Pitbull’s first Lightweight title defense is set for the July 22nd.
The title fight will headline Bellator 283 at the Emerald Casino in Tacoma Washington. The Challenger will be number two ranked contender Sidney Outlaw. Pitbull (24-10) won the vacant title by second round knockout of Peter Queally this past November. Outlaw has won his last two fights, a decision over Adam Piccolotti and submitting Myles Jury.
The co-main event will see three time Bellator welterweight champion and World Grand Prix winner Douglas Lima will face surging top contender Jason Jackson. Lima has beaten Rory Macdonald, knocked out Michael Page, and twice has stopped Andrey Koreahkov. Jackson is primed for a title shot after winning five in a row. The last theee have come over Benson Henrdson, Neiman Gracie, & Paul Daley.
The main card will also see unbeaten number four ranked Lightweight contender Usman Nurmagomedov against Chris Gonzalez. Nurmagomedov has made a statement with his last two wins stopping Nanny Moreau by TKO and submitting Patrik Pietila. Gonzalez comes in off a stunning first round knockout of Saad Awad.
