Adesanya vs. Pereira title fight on tap for UFC 281

The UFC Middleweight championship will be on the line when the organization returns to the Big Apple in November.

Reigning 185 lbs. king Israel “The Last Style Bender” Adesanya will defend against his kickboxing nemisis Alex Pereira.

Their first meeting in the ring saw Pereira come away with a decision win. The rematch would be going in Adesanya’s favor until a monster shot connected completing and improbable come back.

Following the second loss Adesanya made the transition to MMA full time. Two wins later “The Last Style Bender” signed with the UFC.  Adesanya is 12-0 in the middleweight division as he heads into his sixth title defense.

Pereira would continue his journey in Kickboxing winning Glory’s Middleweight & Light-Heavyweight titles before making the jump to MMA. A one punch knockout of Thomas Powell at LFA 95 earned the Brazilian his UFC contract. Three fights into his UFC run Pereira earned a shot at the bills after knocking out number for ranked contender Sean Strickland.

The Middleweight title fight will headline UFC281 at Madison Square Garden on November 12th.
