Former World Champion Boxer Signs with BKFC

In a bit of surprising news Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has announced the signing of Austin “No Doubt” Trout.

The fighting pride of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Trout is a former WBA Super Welterweight champion.  Currently Trout’s stands at thirty-five wins, eighteen by knockout, five losses, with a single draw as a professional Boxer. After battling Terrell Gausha to a draw in May of 2019 Trout has put together a win streak.

In February of 2020 Trout stopped Rosbel Montoya in two rounds.  Next came a trip south of the border, defeating Juan Armando Garcia Galvan by decision. Next came a trip to Dubai where Trout beat Alejandro Davila by unanimous decision. And this past July Trout went to Germany and won a majority decision over Florin Cardos.

During his incredible career inside the ring Trout faced a who’s who list of opponent including Jermall Charlo, Jermell Charlo, Jarrett Hurd, Erislandy Lara, & Canelo Alvarez. Trouts biggest win came in 2012 when he bettered Miguel Cotto by decision in Madison Square Garden.

Trout has cross trained with MMA fighters including Carlos Condit in the past but it’s easy to say that taking off the gloves will be a new experience. Trout is easily the second biggest name following Paulie Malignaggi from Boxing to Bare Knuckle.

Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman recently let it be known that Paige VanZant is expected to be back in the squared circle February 27th in Albuquerque. There was no word who would be the opponent this time around. It would only make sense for Trout to debut in his home market just like John Dodson did in August.

VanZant transitioned to Bare Knuckle after going 8-5 in MMA. The change of sports hasn’t been easy. “PVZ” lost her BKFC debut by decision to Britain Hart. Five months later she lost a decision to Rachel Ostovich who she had submitted in the UFC. During 2022 VanZant was twice scheduled to face Charisa Sigala but the fight never materialized.
