Malykhin punches his way to 2nd Championship at One on Prime Video 5
The Mall of Asia Arena in Manila Philippines hosted One on Prime Video 5. The nine-fight card featuring two world title fights. Matheus Gabriel challenging Kade Ruotolo for the One Lightweight Grappling title & interim Heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin challenging Reinier de Ridder for his One Light-Heavyweight title.
The punching power of Anatoly Malykhin was immediately recognized by Reiner de Ridder who frantically tried to clinch up. The interim Heavyweight champion gaining confidence with every failed takedown. Malykhin forcing the two-division champion back to the fence. Overhand rights and rights to the body breaking down and overwhelming de Ridder. A final hammer fist as RDR stares at the lights seals the deal. Malykhin now is a two division champion while RDR still the One Middleweight champion fails to . In the co-main event Kade Ruotolo constantly pressed the action, twice having Matheus Gabriel in danger from leg locks. Those two-chances giving Kade the decision after ten minutes without a submission. The highly anticipated welterweight contest between Roberto Soldic & Murad Ramazanov ended prematurely in disappointing fashion as Soldic was unable to continue following an accidental low blow. On the strength of an early knockdown Jackie Buntan beaten Amber Kitchen in a women’s Strawweight Muay Thai bout. The main card opener saw Lowne Tnanes take Dae Sung Park to the mat racking up time on his opponents back to win a decision. Edson Marques made a statement to the lightweight division as he sent former champion Eduard Folayang into a face plant with one punch. In the final moments of a kick heavy first round Marques landed a straight right that put Folyang on his heels. In the second round Marques on the break from the Thai clinch shot the right hand down the pipe closing the show. The night’s first grappling match saw Tye Rutolo, transition from kimura to armbar into a triangle choke and finally forcing Marat Garfurov to tap from a wrist lock while still having the triangle secured. In heavyweight action Oumar Kane made it consecutive wins as he handed Zhasur Mirzamukhamedov his first loss in MMA. Kane unleashing wild hooks with killer intentions getting inside scoring takedowns in every round. The card open with Denice Zamboanga improving to after edging out Heqin Lin by split decision. A Strawweight bout that was mainly a striking contest.
