The UFC Apex in Las Vegas hosts the first UFC Fight Night of 2023 . The main event came together this week and will see top 15 ranked Middleweight in a Light-Heavyweight duel.
The originally scheduled headliner was to see number 12 Nassourdine Imavov against number 13 ranked Kelvin Gastelum. That was until Gastelum suffered a mouth injury that forced his withdrawal from the contest. The vacancy was quickly filled by number seven ranked Sean Strickland.
Imavov steps into his first UFC main event on a three-fight win streak. During his UFC tenure the French fighter has scored knockouts of Ian Heinisch & Edmen Shahbazyan. Strickland is a cone forward striker and one of the UFC’s biggest personalities. From 2018 to 2022 Strickland made his way to the top of the division winning six-fights in a row.
