Nunes-Pena 3 Tops the UFC’s return to Canada

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be great turning to the Great White North for the final chapter of a championship trilogy.

The main event of UFC 289 will see the book closed in the Amanda Nunes & Juliana Pena saga.

UFC 289 is set for June 10th at the Rogers Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This will be the first UFC even north of the boarder since September of 2019 when “Cowboy” Cerrone & Justine Gaethje fought in the same venue.

Amanda Nunes the current UFC Women’s Featherweight & Bantamweight champion had all but ended the debate about who the greatest female mixed martial artist of all-time was prior to stepping in the octagon at UFC 269. That night “The Lioness” would look very human as Pena would shock the world forcing Nunes to tap from a rear naked choke in the second round. Seven months later after coaching the Ultimate Fighter against each other Nunes returned to form and regained the UFC women’s bantamweight title beating “The Venezuelan Vixen” by unanimous decision to even the series at a win a peace.
