Honchak vs. Hashi Main Events Invicta FC 9
The UFC has announced that Invicta FC 9, on November 1, will take place in Davenport, Iowa will be headlined by Takayo Hashi (15-4-1) traveling to enemy territory, to challenge the home town favorite Barb Honchak (9-2) for the Invicta FC Flyweight title.
The event which will be at the River Center, will be the promotions first event outside of Missouri.
Hashi a 10 year vet of MMA is 2-0-1, in her last 3 after ending a 3 fight skid, with losses to Sarah Kaufman (UD), Tara LaRosa (UD), and Cat Zingano (KO). Hashi after taking off 2013 is 1-1 in 2014 with a recent TKO of Shizuka Sugiyama and having fought to a draw with Ji Yeon Kim.
Honchak on an 8 fight win streak and 4-0 in Invicta, will be looking for her second consecutive title defense having defended the belt defeating Leslie Smith by unanimous decision in December of 2013. Honchak has fought to the final bell in 9 of her 11 pro bouts.
