
UFC Fight Night “Smith vs. Rakic” Easy Read Results
The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada host UFC Fight Night “Smith vs. Rakic”. A ten-fight card headlined by a top ten light-heavyweight match-up, number five ranked contender Anthony “Lionheart” Smith against number eight ranked Aleksandar Rakic.
Omaha, Nebraska native Anthony Smith will step into the octagon for his 49th professional fight in a nearly 13 year professional career. Since moving to 205 lbs. Smith has collected some big win including defeating former champions Rashad Evans & “Shogun” Rua. Vienna, Austria’s Alesandar Rakic is 4-1 in the UFC. Nine wins by knockout with eight fight round knockouts including stopping Devin Clark & Jimi Manuwa.
The co-main event has on short notice, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, the number fourteen ranked contender, against number thirteen ranked Neil Magny, whose won four of his last five fights.
A late change to the main card, a positive Covid-19 test from light-heavyweight, Ion Cutelaba has cancelled his rematch with Magomed Ankalaev.

Mallory Martin survived getting knocked down in the first round, getting Hannah Cifers to the ground in the 2nd and finishing the fight by rear naked choke. Emily Whitmire quickly took Polyana Viana to the ground. Viana peppered Whitmire with elbows and snatched an armbar finish. Sean Brady cut Christian Aguilera in the first and finished the round with a take-down. Brady took the fight back to the mat in the second putting Aguilera to sleep with a one-arm mounted guillotine, remaining undefeated. Alex Caceres stuck Austin Springer with a hand to the gut. Springer shoots in for a take down, Caceres sprawls transitions to taking the back, slipping an arm under the neck, then the hooks, and forces the tap. Three rounds of back and forth on the feet, Zak Cummings landed a head kick knockdown on Alessio Di Chirico just before the buzzer to cap off a three rounds on the feet. Impa Kasanganay scored big with his overhand rights, winning a unanimous decision over Maki Pitolo in his official UFC debut. Ricardo Lamas went back to his wrestling roots including dominating the third round to the tune of a 10-8 on all judges score cards to win a unanimous decision. Alexa Grasso made a successful debut at flyweight with fast hands and a late takedown, defeating Ji Yeon Kim by unanimous decision. The co-main event was one way traffic as Neil Magny scored four takedowns and landed over 120 strikes beating Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision. In his first UFC main event Aleksandar Rakic performed superbly, hurting Anthony Smith with low leg kicks before dominating the action on the ground to win a unanimous decision.
