
Bellator Heading to Hollywood Florida with a Featherweight title fight
Cris Cyborg will be back in the Bellator cage one more time before the year ends defending her featherweight championship in the main event of Bellator 271.
The Brazilian champion will put the title on the line against Ireland’s Sinead Kavanagh in the headliner of Bellator 271 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on November 12th. Kavanagh comes in having won her last two a knockout of Olga Rubin and a decision win over Katharina Lehner.
Cyborg made her promotional debut in the beginning of 2020 dethroning Julia Budd from atop the divisions throne by a fourth-round knockout. The champ scored her first successful title defense by submitting Arlene Blencowe. In May Leslie Smith lasted all to the 5th round before crumbling to a cross and scumming to strikes on the ground for Cyborg’s second successful defense. The former Strikeforce, Invicta FC, & UFC champion is truly a one of a kind.
Bellator President Scott Crocker also added in a crutial change thr promtion will making in 2022. In the new year all Bellator main events, event none title fights will be five rounds. The change come on the heels of Phil Davis vs. Yoel Romero at Bellator 266 & Michael Page vs. Douglas Lima at Bellator 267 failing to live up to expectations.
