Bellator Ireland, Ramazan Kuramagomedov wrestles Welterweight title away from Jason Jackson
Dublin Ireland, Bellator has a new Welterweight champion.
Ramazan Kuramagomedov has lived up to the hype he garnered through Eagle FC. Two dominate wins in Bellator took the Russian to contender. His wrestling stifling Jackson’s striking. A second-round slicing Jason Jackson’s open around his left eye. A lead built up that the Jackson guillotine attempts couldn’t overcome in the championship rounds. All three judges see it the same at three rounds to two for the new and undefeated Champion.
Irish prospect and former Cage Warriors champion Paul Hughes had a bloody good showing in his promotional debut. It’s now nine finishes and six knockouts after putting Bobby King on his back unloading punches & elbows for the second-round stoppage leaving Bobby King covered in a crimson mask.
Arlene Blencowe made it 2-0 against Sinead Kavanagh. This time the judges weren’t needed as Blencowe knocked down Kavanagh twice. The second time Blencowe wrapping up a guillotine as Kavanagh attempted to return to her feet getting the tap with the Irishwomen trapped against the fence. On the merits of three of three controlling takedowns Dalton Rosta took a majority decision win handing Norbert Novenyi Jr. his career loss. Darragh Kelly earned the 5th finish of his career jumping on the neck and putting Mathias Poiron to sleep by guillotine choke in the inside the first two minutes of the first round. We don’t know when it will be, but Kasum Kasumov will be the next to challenge Patchy Mix for the Bellator Bantamweight title after his wrestling got the decision win over Matheus Mattos.
