BKFC 62 Results, Stewart And Still Blas & Warren And New
Hollywood Florida, a jam packed Seminole Hard Rock Resort & Casino was witness to the crowning of two new champions and saw another added a defense to his legacy.

Kai Stewart put on his trademark pressure from the get-go smothering Bryan Duran’s power. A left hook in the second round looked like Stewart sat down Duran but was called a slip. The Cuban representing Florida was unable to land the shot that would back Stewart off. The champ getting his knockdown in the fourth, a right hand over Duran’s guard placing him on the canvas. A (49-44) score from all the judges gives Stewart his second successful defense. UFC vet and number five ranked Jimmie Rivera got into the ring for a post-fight stare down with the Champion who welcomed his next challenger.
Easily the most impressive performance of the night came from the new BKFC Bantamweight champion Albert Blas. The Cuban utilized laser accurate counters to knockdown Keth Richardson twice and finish the deal in 70 seconds. Blas caught Richardson coming with a right hook for the first knockdown. One could argue that it was gamesmanship but “The Rockstar” hit the mat and came up in a way that he was either trying to play off the knockdown or he was out on his feet. The fight should have been sticking Richardson with a combo finished by a straight left and the ref jumping in for the standing technical knockout and the title change. Richardson so dazed he has to be restrained from boxing the ref when he stepped in, in a very chaotic scene.

After five-years of hard work Jared Warren has reached the top of the BKFC Light-Heavyweight Mountain. Jomi Escoboza was never able to get his jab going but Warren was able to come over, under, and around it with his counter left. Warren scored one knockdown in the first, but it could have been two as a left uppercut in the clinch at the Bell was called a slip. A right hook and shorty right hand put Escoboza down in the second in what looked like the finish. Miraculous Escoboza would survive. A third knockout came in the third along with lacerations between Escoboza’s eyes and over his left eye. The heart of a warrior kept Escoboza upright till the final bell. The largely one-sided fight reflected in the scorecards.

The Bantamweight division also had a pair of prospects put forth note worthy efforts. A clean right cross saw the blue haired Justin Ibarrola score a one punch knockout win over Rick Caruso. And the quick combos and ripping right hands of Chris Garcia forced a second-round doctor stoppage in his bout against Mike Livingston.
Edgard Palazola collected his third win in the BKFC stopping Eric Dodson in the fourth round after four knockdowns. Heavyweight Leonardo Perdomo says it’s his time and it’s hard to argue with when he’s able to knockdown Leo Bercier four times in the first round, the final time by a crisp left hook.
