BKFC & Rizin Announce Deal, John Dodson Returns to Japan for Bare-Knuckle Action in July

A groundbreaking cross sport partnership between BKFC & Rizin Fighting Federation has been announced.

During the MMA Hour BKFC president David Feldman & Rizin head honcho Nobuyuki Sakakibara told the world of their plans to share talent and expanded BKFC into Southeast Asia.

At Rizin 46 at the start of May the partnership did a test run where BKFC sent Justyn Martinez to Japan to face kickboxer & MMA fighter Tatsuki Shinozuka. A test to see how the audience would respond. Shinotsuka scored a first-round knockout thrilling the crowd and paving the way for a full partnership.

While names were not announced it’s expected that Rizin fighters will compete at the July 12th BKFC Fight Night in Temecula. BKFC is sending a pair of bangers to Japan for the Rizin card on July 28th. BKFC Flyweight champion John “The Magician” Dodson will face Takaki Soya a power puncher with 75% of his wins by knockout. Dodson is no stranger to Rizin having his last three MMA bout in their ring posting a 2-1 mark. Plus, fan favorites in the women’s division meet as Tai Emry returns from over two years away to faces Charisa Sigala, who’s been sideline for over 16-months.
