Nine Days Out UFC Saudi Arabia Get New Main Event
Illness has forced Khamzat Chimaev to withdraw from his upcoming main event fight.
The UFC will be putting on their first event in Saudi Arabi next Saturday June 22nd. With not many specifics released the Chimaev camp has announced their fighter was forced out due to a persisting illness. The card will go on as scheduled with former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker taking on highly touted prospect Ikriam Aliskerov.
Whittaker is the number three ranked contender in the Middleweight division. In February the former TUF Nations winner took apart Paulo Costa for a decision win.
Aliskerov is interestingly enough on a seven-fight win streak since a loss to Khamzat Chimaev under the Brave banner. So far inside the octagon Aliskerov has looked like the real deal knocking out Phil Hawes & Warlley Alves. Aliskerov had been scheduled to face the Antonio Trocoli this weekend at the UFC Apex. Trocoli was a replacement for the formerly top 15 ranked Andre Muniz.
