Event Story

The bragging rights go to Linton Vassell but Valentin Moldavsky is going to the playoffs.

Linton Vassell won the PFL 4 main event by split decision over Valentin Moldavsky. While both parties had success with their grappling at times, they did match in continually reversing position. It was Vassell who did more damage, cutting Moldasky outside his left eye and knocking Moldavsky down with a well-timed knee in the clinch.

The expectations for Dakota Ditcheva are already a mile high and she’s continuing to show they are valid. The 2023 PFL Europe women’s Flyweight champion knocked down former Muay Thai champion Chelsea Hackett with a right hand and then battered Hackett to the body for a first-round finish that secured Ditcheva the number one seed heading into the playoffs.

Dennis Goltsov made quick work of Thiago Santos scoring a first-round finish. Santos charged at Goltsov getting sat down by a check left hook. Santos managed to escape from under Goltsov’s mount but was dragged back down and finished with punches from back mount. The victory places Golsov in first heading into the playoffs.

It was much closer the second time around but the win streak for Liz Carmocuhe continues. Carmouche took top position in the first but surrendered it to Kana Watanabe in the second. The Bellator champ landed several solid right hooks and uppercuts before being wrestled down in the third. Rescuing the fight from seeing the judges’ score cards, Carmouche is able to secure an armbar in the final moments of the contest.

Jena Bishop came out on the losing side of a split decision to Taila Santos, but both have made the playoffs.

Barring injury the Heavyweight playoffs will see Denis Goltsov vs. Tim Johnson & Oleg Popov & Valentin Moldavsky. And the Women’s Flyweight playoffs will see Dakota Ditcheva vs. Jena Bishop & Bellator champion Liz Carmouche vs Taila Santos.
