
LFA Brazil vs. Latin America, Carlos Leal Blast through Manuel Mena
Legacy Fighting Alliance is at the Ginasio do Polvilho in Caiamar Sau Paulo Brazil for a night of MMA action pitting Brazil against Latin America.
Former LFA Welterweight champion Carlos Leal put his power on display against short notice opponent Manuel Mena. Unable to get his takedown Mena was forced to stand with Leal who backed up Mena and scored his first knockdown with a beautiful flying knee. It felt like the finish was imminent, but Leal backed away. A laser right hand crumbled Mena for the first-round finish. The tenth career knockout win for Leal. Capping off a night were Brazil won the team competition 6-1.
Brazil’s Marcos Degil made up for missing weight the best he could by stopping Ignacio Fernandez in the first round. Degil took Fernandez down, took the back and punched his way to his ninth win in a row and fifth consecutive in the first round.
Brazil’s Samuel Dias scored his ninth first round finish catching Renzo Cortti’s low kick placed him on the grounded and overwhelmed. Brazil’s Inglesson da Larar broke down Lucas Miletich with body shots and nearly got a submission in winning a unanimous decision. Argentina’s Lionel Abojer knocked down Apollo Gomes against the fence and jumped on the back securing a second-round rear naked choke finish.
Brazil’s Pedro Doreto opened Leandro Solano under his right eye and closed the eye up to force an end to their bout after the conclusion of the first round. Doreto keeps his 100% finishing rate intact earning his third knockout victory. Brazil’s Aieza Bert picked apart Alejandra Fernandez for two and a half rounds before finishing Fernandez on the ground with strikes to open the main card.
Brazilian Flyweight Hugo Paiva brought out the heavy artillery dropping Rodrigo Roldan with an overhand right and knocking him out on the ground. Cuban Valdimir Calvo relied on his wrestling game with relentless takedown attempts earning the decision win over Leonardo Mesquita. Lany Silva rebounded from her first setback displaying an aggressive striking style with combinations of punches capped by stabbing knees to push past Pamela Mara.
