2024 PFL Lightweight & Light-Heavyweight Championships set, Gadzhi Rabadanov Produces Fireworks

Gadzhi Rabadanov knockout secured him a spot in the 2024 PFL Lightweight championship bout and was the only finishes of playoff bouts at 2024 PFL 8.

Rabadanov felt out Michael Dufort on the feet before hitting a takedown to end the first round on top a position he was in frequently during his two regular season decision wins. In the second round Blaine Rabadanov dipped his shoulder faking a takedown and exploding into a long-left hook putting Dufort on his back. Hammering ground strikes get the finish.

The 2024 PFL Lightweight championship bout will be between a pair of Bellator vets as Rabadanov will face former Bellator Lightweight champion Brent Primus. Primus’s grappling stifled all action pressure boxer Clay Collard. Primus had great success getting Collard down and getting on his back, winning a decision to advance.

In the night’s main event Impa Kasangany made it back-to-back trips to the finals. The 2023 PFL Light-Heavyweight champion made it consecutive decision wins over Josh Silveira in the PFL post season. While Silveira brought a much different, high-volume approach, nothing of significance landed while Kasangany’s powerful punches made an imprint in every round.

Standing in Kasangany’s way of a repeat will be Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov. The fighting pride of Turkmenistan beat Rob Wilkinson by unanimous decision. The tight guard of Yagshimuradov combined with his speed saw him out point the 2022 PFL Light-Heavyweight champion.
