Goltsov Reaches Back to Back PFL Finals while Ditcheva Hype continues to build
The 2024 PFL finals in the Heavyweight and Women’s Flyweight divisions are set.
Denis Goltsov has reached the PFL Heavyweight finals for the second consecutive year after a first round TKO of Tim Johnson. Goltsov stuck Johnson with his jab got to the clinch put Johnson on his back with an outside trip striking to the finish once on top. The 34-year-old collecting his 29th finish and 18th by knockout. Goltsov will face fellow countrymen Oleg Popov in the one-million-dollar finals. Popov out wrestled Linton Vassell for fifteen minutes taking a unanimous decision.
Much of the talk about this year’s inaugural women’s flyweight season was the possible start potential of Dakota Ditcheva. The 2023 PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight handled being put on her back early by Jena Bishop with pose. Ditcheva got back up and to her Thai clinch face planting Bishop with a knee. Ditcheva backed off and one more right-hand finished Bishop when she got back to her feet. The English fighter recording her 11th win by knockout and 12th finish. The 26-year-old phenom will face former UFC title challenger Talia Santos in the finals. Santos handed Liz Carmouche her first loss in four years winning a unanimous decision. Santos had Carmouche back threatening a rear naked in the first and did damage with big right hands.
