Hart Retains Pressure Edge in Decision over Starling at BKFC 63

The BKFC Women’s Strawweight title will remain in Virginia after Britain Hart out pointed Taylor Starling in the BKFC 63 main event. From the opening moments it was the champion pressuring the challenger. Starling with a stiff jab and hard right hand bust Hart open over her left eye. Hart’s heavy jab cross offense drawing blood from Starling’s mouth and nose. Both had big moments, but it was Hart continually forcing Starling back a defining factor in her third successful defense.

Sam Shewmaker stayed on his bike and played the long game excellently. The very fight right hand Shewmaker landed led to a clinch sequence leaving Burns with a lip to his right leg. The Shewmaker stick and move open multiple cuts from the left ear to the middle of Burns face. A straight right hand scored a knockdown for Shewmaker in the fifth cementing the domination.

The right hand of former title contender Josh Dyer made quick work of William Albrecht. A hard charging in Albrecht was sat down and put away by a pair of Dyer counter right hooks.

It took Bryant Acheson some time to adjust Joseph Creer’s speed. Creer’s straight shots nearly closing up Acheson’s left eye. When Acheson landed, he scored knockdowns in the 2nd and 5th rounds with right hands to earn the decision win.

Roberto Armas got back in the win’s column with a six knockdown TKO. Armas put Grady on the mat once in the first, a trio of times in the second, and twice in the third to stop Jack Grady. Josh Watson cut Ruben Roundstone over his left eye with the first strike he threw. Watson would rack up four knockdowns with right hands for the first round TKO. That’s the third win in a row for Watson who at one point was scheduled for a title eliminator against Ben Rothwell.

It was a destructive debut for Brandon Conley knocking down Donnie Tice Jr. four times in the second round. Conley put an end to the fight with one laser straight right. It’s four wins in a row for Zach Calmus. The “Shark Attack” mauled Paul Shough knocking him down twice in the first round. An overhand right got the first knockdown and a left hook on the nose put an end to the bout. The night got off to an electric start as Timmy Mason put Gabriel Freyre out cold from a counter left hook 17 seconds into the fight.
