Kuzitutina defends by Dominating Ellen in the Clinch at LFA 189

The Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, NY hosts LFA 189 where the LFA Women’s interim Strawweight title is on the line. In the main event Russian Judoka Natasha Kuzitutina defends against Brazilian Sanda expert Bruna Ellen.

It’s Olympic time. The three previous summer Olympics Natasha Kuzitutina was competing at the games in Judo. Dawning her Gi for the walk to the Octagon for the LFA 189 main event. Kuzitutina came in as a judoka and represented to the fullest. Pressuring her way into the clinch Kuzitutina would take an underhook firing away with right hands. The pressure and the throws racking up. The interim champion feeling a finish was earned in the fourth round as she pounded on Bruna Ellen having one arm trapped between her legs. A thorough performance displaying great control, clinch work, and fight IQ. Only seven fights into her MMA career Kuzitutina is making a strong case to bypass title unification and head to the big show.

Iler Bakhtiyar Uulu stopped James Gonzalez in the first round by TKO. Uulu knocked Gonzalez down early from a right hook. From there on Uulu kept his foot on the gas battering Gonzalez in the clinch with knee ansd elbows. A Micaias Urena right cross split the guard of Ashiek Ajim putting him down and the follow up punches turned out the lights for an 11-second knockout. In Heavyweight action 4-1 underdog Matt Adams handed Alex Marro his first professional loss. An Adams teap kick to Marro’s belly caused a knee injury. Pinned on the fence Admas teed off a left hook putting Marro down and two more got the ref to jump in.  The main card started with veteran Marine, Will Lewis getting his first win in the promotion. A decisive unanimous decision. Lewis made great use of his size advantage keeping Evert Desilets on the outside where he was fed a steady diet of kicks. And in the final prelim Cristina Brador jumped on the back and submit Aline David by rear naked choke in the first round.
