
RDR signs with & receives debut assignment
Dutch submission artist Reinier de Ridder has a new promotional home with the industry’s leader in Mixed Martial Arts, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Former two-division One MMA champion Reinier de Ridder has signed with the UFC and will debut for the promotion in November. The signing comes after “Tehe Dutch Knight” scored a TKO win over Magomedmurad Khasaev at UAE Warriors 51.
De Ridder 34, joined one after an 8-0 start to his MMA career. He won his first six-fights in One including taking both of Aung La N Sang’s world titles. The Jiu Jitsu black belt brings 12 wins by submission when he enters the octagon.
The first fight in the UFC will come against well traveled veteran Gerald Meerschaert. Meerschaert is 54-fight veteran with 35 stoppage victories on his resume. In his last two fights “GM3” has submitted rugged brawler Bryan Barberena and had an improbable comeback submission win over Edmen Shahbazyan.
