BYB 35, Wright starches Saravia while East & Rush engage in Bloody Epic

Fight of the Year, Knockout of the year, a new champion crowned and that was jus the first BYB card of 2025.

In his third fight inside the Trigon the “Wolfman” can now be referred to as champion. For some who normally takes their time and plays the long game Javon Wright established himself early knocking down Walter Saravia. Wright could smell blood in the water, a stabbing jab collected a second knockdown Saravia couldn’t recover from. The second round knockout sees Javon Wright win his first world championship.

Easily the fight of the night was the co-main event. Dylan Rush was forced to take a knee after roughing him up in the clinch with right hands. And East  came out of the first with a cut outside his right eye. The two would continue to exchange massive shot through the second. The action was stopped in the second and third round to check on East’s eye. East with a sense of urgency let his right hands go knocking down Dylan Rush twice in the final minute. After the onslaught Rush’s right eye was closed leading to a doctor stoppage.

Former title challenger Carlos Guerra welcomes Albuquerque’s own Cole Griego. At Heavyweight UFC vet Cody East faces Hawaiian tough man champion Dylan Rush. Plus former BYB champion Jarome Hatch meets former BKB champion Daniel Lerwell.

Former title challenger Carlos Guerra look primed for another shot a gold after a 3rd round TKO win over Cole Griego. Griego started out the fight well cutting Guerra outside his right eye. Just before the end of the first Guerra sat Griego down with a left hooks before crushing to the body. Guerra would rack up three more knockdowns in the second with two stemming from body shots. In the third round Guerra corner Griego and threw till the ref jumped in.

Jarome Hatch nearly made history with his first round knockout. Hatch floor Daniel Lerwell in the opening seconds of the fight with a lightning fast combination. Hatch’s right hand landed and as Lerwell was following to the ground and left hooks before crushing connected. What could have been a four or five second knockout goes down as 13 seconds.

Henry Barahona got himself a win for his 30th birthday. “Boom Boom” stopped Matthew Maestas 53 seconds into the first round with a devastating left hook.

Cuba’s Yuniesky Gonzalez made Martez McGregor made loud statement in his Bare Knuckle debut scoring a first round knockout. Gonzalez pulverized McGregor to the body with left hooks before crushing him with a overhand right for the finish.

Chaise Nelson won a unanimous decision over Nate Williams on the strength of two knockdowns. A Nelson left hook forced Williams into shooting a takedown in the first and right hook got the knockdown in the second. The win came at a cost as Williams unfortunately had to go the hospital with damage to both hands.

In the opening fight on the card Giovanni Rosales trapped Nickolas Whitmore in the corner mixing in overhand and uppercuts to the finish.
