LFA 204 Results, Freeman takes Heavyweight Title from Cunha
Legacy Fighting Alliance is at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut for LFA 204. The LFA Heavyweight title is on the line in the main event as Brazilian champion Hugo “Silverback” Cunha puts the title on the line against American Denzel “Luke Fox” Freeman. Cunha is a Contender Series vet with 100% finishing rate with an equal ratio of submissions to knockouts. Freeman has an 80% finishing rate with 75% of his wins coming by knockout. Recap. The LFA has a new Heavyweight champion. Denzel Freeman’s high kicks forced Hugo Cunha into grappling. Freeman stuffed the takedown ripped on combinations of punches forcing Cunha to crumble when he couldn’t get the takedown. Freeman finishing the fight with ground strikes in the second. Dylan Mantello pulled off a comeback win in the co-main event. Ednilson Santos stunned Mantello multiple times in the first round. Matello came back hurting Santos with a right hook and followed it up with a takedown. Santos battled to his feet to get put out cold by another right hook. The bout earned fight of the night honors. UFC vets had a big night Joe Giannetti stunned Leonardo Limberger with a right hook. Limberger got his takedown but was stunned by an up-kick and finished by strikes while stuck in a triangle choke. Plus, Luis Henrique was one step ahead of Justin Sumter taking the back and cranking on a kimura for the second-round submission. An Tuan Ho got the card off to an explosive start. Ho knocked down Jimi Natividad with a high kick. As soon as Natividad got up, he was met by a front kick to the face and polished off with strikes on the ground.
