Electricity in the Air Ahead of BKFC 75
Media day for BKFC -75 did not disappoint in energy, strategies and barbs. In the main event Albuquerque’s Donald Sanchez (4-1) will be taking on David Mundell (9-1) for the BKFC middleweight championship this Friday at our very own Tingley Coliseum at 6PM.

Mundell, the reigning champ since 2022, is coming off a 7-0 win streak and did not mince words at the press conference.
“I don’t think he’s faced anyone like me,” said Mandell at the conference. Mandell cocked back on his seat and confidently added, “I’m on a 5-5 knockout streak and he’s at a 4-5 win streak—we are at two different levels.”
Mundell does not take “any opponent lightly,” and opened his conference by saying that all he knew about Sanchez is that he is “tough.” “I’m not worried about him (Sanchez), I was only worried about the elevation,” said Mundell. Mundell will have been in Albuquerque 10 days on fight night and combined with his preparation which includes an altitude mask he feels he is “more than ready,” and added, “He (Sanchez) has lost to people that I feel my opponents are better than.”
For his part Donald Sanchez, fighting out of the Duke City’s very own Absolute Boxing, is more than ready himself to take a shot at the current champ and was not impressed with Mundell’s comments and when asked what he felt about what Mendell had said, Sanchez responded, “He’s pretty arrogant and he needs to be put in his place and he came to the right place for that.”
Sanchez who has been with BKFC since 2023 matter of factly said, “Obviously he has not done his homework on me, I ‘ve fought on the top in boxing, mma and overseas —I fought some of the top Russians out in Russia.”
Sanchez who is considered one of the best well rounded fighters in BKFC has a 4-1 record in BKFC, with 2 of those being knockouts, In his MMA career Sanchez amassed a 30-20 record with 11 of those wins as a knockout or submission. Prior to his MMA career, as a boxer Sanchez accumulated a 5-3 record with 3 of those being knockouts.
“I”m coming with everything—-he’s just overlooking me—that’s all i’m gonna say,”
On the topic of strategy Sanchez believes two factors will allow him to finish Mundell in the 3rd or 4th round if he had to make a prediction. His “high pace” will put pressure on Mandell and put him “on his heels.” Elevation, which Mandell said at his conference was his only “fear” in this fight, will play a strong role according to Sanchez, “It’s different out here (elevation), I know he feels 10 days is enough out here and he feels his stupid training mask is going to help him–but I eat, live and breath it out here.”
Fans, who will also be a big factor in the championship bout, will be able to see which strategy prevails on Friday.
