Culpepper vs. Gutierrez Headlines Fightworld 40
Fightworld MMA returns to the Duke City Saturday August 9th.
The most consistent MMA show in New Mexico is back at the Revel Entertainment Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a huge night of action.
In the main event Diara “Spice” Culpepper from the Jacksonwink Academy squares off with Fit NHB’ Alejandro “Hondo” Gutierrez. This fight had been scheduled to happen in 2022 making their showdown on the 9th that much more important. Last August, Texas’s Culpepper made his Fightworld debut winning a decision over Ozzy Chavez. Gutierrez made it consecutive first round finishes just two weeks ago knocking out Luis Fernando Chavez in 26 seconds.
In the co-main event Fit NHB’s Ozzy Chavez welcomes Chula Vista, California’s Erique Marte to the Land of Enchantment. Bother fighters bring a high pace, fan friendly style to the cage. And in the feature fight El Paso kickboxer Carlos Pacheo battles well-rounded Socorro scrapper Ray Vaiza.
The amateur side of the card will feature a pair of title bouts at Bantamweight & Lightweight. Current CFC amateur 135 lbs. champion, Santiago Gonzales from Sandoval Fight Systems looks to add a second title to his mantel when he faces unbeaten Izaac Sandoval from Borg MMA. The two combine for five knockouts in their seven wins. And a pair of unbeaten fighters will be dualling for the Fightworld amateur Lightweight title as Sandoval Fight Systems Jon Merino battles Borg MMA’s Ezekial Romero.
