Title Fights Locked for UFC 320: Pereira’s Redemption & Merab’s Third Defense

A championship doubleheader has been announced for UFC 320 in Sin City.

UFC 320 is set for October 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The UFC Light Heavyweight title will be on the line in a rematch in the main event as former champion “Potan” Alex Pereira attempts to regain the belt from Magomed Ankalaev. Russia’s Ankalaev took the title from Pereira at UFC 313 in March by unanimous decision. Ankalaev brought the fight right to Pereira neutralizing the form two division kickboxing world champion offense like no had ever seen. The loss halted a five-fight win streak for Pereira that included winning and defending the strap three times. Taking the crown extended Ankalaev’s unbeaten streak to 13-fights in a row.

  The UFC Bantamweight title is on the line in the co-main event as Merab Dvalishvili defends against number four ranked contender Cory Sandhagen. Dvalishvili will attempt to defend for a third time in 13-months since winning the gold. The Georgian “Machine” is unblemished in his last 13-fight a streak that has taken him  to top three pound for pound.  Sandhagen has won four of his last five fights including domination former title challenger Marlon Vera and submitting for champion Deiveson Figueiredo.

The third fight announced has title implications at 205 lbs. as former champion and number two ranked Jiri Prochazka squares off with number four ranked Khalil Rountree Jr.
