Last Light: Roblez Extinguishes Hope in Duke City
Last Light proved to be far too appropriate a name, as the final flicker of hope appeared to be extinguished in Duke City Championship Wrestling.
Matthew Roblez’s grand plan took shape in front of a sold-out El Rey Theater. Roblez had the night mapped out, and it unfolded exactly as he envisioned.
The Street and Sour duo of Manny Lemons and Hobo Hank had Sale and Ronin completely out of sorts, dishing out a sustained beating. That’s when Roblez’s plan kicked into high gear. A tag title shot to Hobo’s back from Devin Reno was followed by a First Clas elbow. Sale slid in to pick the bones and collect the pin.
Sensing an opportunity to fully eradicate their rivals, 4-Sale and Pretty City Express joined continued the assault.
From the back came Turbo Test to save the day. With their own history of issues with Roblez—and frustrations boiling over from earlier in the night. Inadvertent friendly fire struck as Tommy Two Scoops’ tornado clothesline clobbered Turbo Tony, allowing La Migra to steal the victory.
Chaos followed when Turbo Test stormed the ring, cleaning house. Tommy Two Scoops knocked Devin Reno out of the ring, then turned—only to see Tony Turbo waiting to break his heart and turn on him.
To the disbelief of the 505, Tony Turbo aligned himself with 4-Sale. The shocking betrayal capped a heinous main event and served as yet another chapter in the story Roblez orchestrated throughout the night.
Roblez earlier revealed his brass-tacks strategy against Sky High, grounding the high-flyer and keeping the Chile Tag Team Titles around the waists of Pretty City Express. All it took was one loaded right hand.
Marvelous Jaden Monroe showcased exactly why he’s overflowing with potential—and an ego to match. Monroe was firmly in control against former DCCW Heavyweight Champion Thunder, but the young Arizonan let arrogance get the better of him. One moment of lost focus was all Thunder needed to turn the tide.
Valak Vile attempted to tip the scales in the All Fast MVD match by freezing the timer, but his magic failed him. With his wand a dud, Johnny Magna seized the opening, landing a power slap that left Vile lost in an illusion of consciousness.
Travel issues grounded Bryan Idol, opening the door for Lonzo Romero to answer an impromptu fight downtown. Triste accepted the challenge, pushing the Lowrider to redline—but Romero flipped the switch, kicked the hydraulics into action, and flattened Triste for the win.
The night opened with an elimination-style fatal four-way. Sancho Martinez relied heavily on his trusty chair to eliminate El Leon and Dirty Dan, but Macho Libre proved the old saying true—you live by the chair, you die by the chair. A top-rope dive sealed the victory.
An exciting year in Duke City Championship Wrestling comes to a close. The first event of 2026 will be February 7th “Thrill of Tradition” where Hobo Hank will face NWA Heavyweight Champion Thrillbilly Silas Mason.
