UFC Returns to Houston With Strickland–Hernandez Showdown
Houston, we have lift-off for Fight Night.
For the first time since UFC 271 three years ago, the UFC returns to the Toyota Center on February 21st.
Former UFC Middleweight Champion and No. 3-ranked contender Sean Strickland will go head-to-head with surging No. 4-ranked Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez in the main event.
A year removed from losing his middleweight title to Dricus Du Plessis, Strickland finally makes his return to action. The comeback was delayed after an altercation with a fighter he was cornering, but now the outspoken, old-school brawler is back. Strickland brings a unique blend of chaos and discipline, often antagonizing opponents into wild exchanges while maintaining iron-clad fundamentals.
Hernandez, meanwhile, enters the biggest fight of his career riding an eight-fight win streak. In August, he submitted fellow contender Roman Dolidze, a performance that earned him a quick-turnaround main event—one that fell through due to injury. His relentless pressure, suffocating pace, and non-stop takedowns have made “Fluffy” one of the toughest puzzles at 185 pounds.
