For the first time in 2026, the Octagon has been erected inside the Mata Apex for a showdown between top-15 ranked Bantamweights.
In the main event, ninth-ranked Mario Bautista squares off with the number 11 contender Vinicius “Lok Dog” Oliveira. Arizona’s Bautista has quietly put together an impressive 10–3 run in the UFC, punctuated by statement wins that spoiled both Jose Aldo’s retirement bout and Patchy Mix’s promotional debut.
Oliveira made an instant impact in his UFC debut, starching Bernardo Sopaj with a flying knee knockout. His relentless pressure and low-hands, come-forward style has forced opponents into uncomfortable exchanges, leading to three decision victories over previously ranked competition.
The co-main event shifts to the Flyweight division, where sixth-ranked Amir Albazi meets former Rizin champion and current number eight contender Kyoji Horiguchi. Whether it’s misfortune or timing, Albazi has had more UFC fights cancelled than he’s actually competed in. Still, he entered last November’s clash with former champion Brandon Moreno a perfect 5–0 in the promotion and now stands at 5–1 overall.
Horiguchi’s journey is one of unfinished business. During his first UFC run, the Japanese standout fought his way to a world title opportunity before departing the promotion. Back home, he rebuilt his résumé in emphatic fashion, capturing two Rizin titles and a Bellator championship. Now back in the UFC and riding a four-fight win streak — including a submission victory in his return — Horiguchi remains locked in on the one prize that has always eluded him: UFC gold.
