Dana White Unleashes Wave of Fight Announcements Across Global UFC Schedule
The UFC schedule for the spring and early summer just took shape in a big way. In a rapid-fire set of announcements, UFC President Dana White revealed a slate of major fights spanning events in Canada, Australia, the United States, and Asia. The announcements included title implications, contender matchups, and several intriguing stylistic clashes across multiple divisions.
One of the biggest reveals was the main event for UFC 328. Newly crowned middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaevwill defend his title against former champion Sean Strickland in a high-stakes showdown. Chimaev’s relentless wrestling pressure and finishing ability will be tested against Strickland’s trademark volume striking and durability.
The card will also feature a heavyweight clash between perennial contender Alexander Volkov and knockout artist Waldo Cortes-Acosta in the co-main event. At light heavyweight, former champion Jan Błachowicz meets surging contender Bogdan Guskov in a rematch, while fan favorites King Green and Jeremy Stephens square off in a guaranteed action fight at lightweight.
Earlier in the schedule, the UFC heads north for UFC Winnipeg where Canadian favorite Charles Jourdain faces dynamic bantamweight Kyler Phillips in the co-main event.
The promotion then travels to Australia for UFC Perth, featuring a compelling lightweight clash between veteran contender Beneil Dariush and rising Australian prospect Quillan Salkilld in the co-main event.
At UFC Vegas 117, featherweight contenders collide when England’s Arnold Allen takes on Brazil’s surging finisher Melquizael Costa in the main event.
The UFC will also return to Asia with UFC Macau. Chinese star Song Yadong meets former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo in a pivotal bantamweight main event. The co-main event sees knockout specialist Mingyang Zhangface power puncher Alonzo Menifield at light heavyweight, while heavyweights Sergei Pavlovich and Tallison Teixeirasquare off in what could be one of the most explosive matchups of the month.
Rounding out the announcements, UFC Vegas 118 will feature former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad taking on dangerous Brazilian finisher Gabriel Bonfim in the main event.
The bulk announcement signals the UFC’s push to finalize a busy international stretch, with events across four continents and several divisions receiving clarity in the title and contender picture. With championship stakes, rising prospects, and veteran showdowns all now officially on the calendar, the promotion’s upcoming slate is beginning to look like one of the most stacked runs of the year.
