Preview

In the co-main event, No. 6-ranked Azamat Murzakanov, undefeated at 6-0 in the UFC, welcomes former middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa to the division.

Plus, in a clash of knockout artists, No. 10 Dominick Reyes squares off against No. 12 Johnny Walker.

Recap

UFC 327 delivered chaos, grit, and a shocking championship finish as the light heavyweight division crowned a new king under bizarre circumstances.

In the main event, Carlos Ulberg captured the vacant light heavyweight title with a stunning first-round knockout over Jiri Prochazka. The fight took a dramatic turn early when Ulberg appeared to severely injure his right knee after an awkward step during a calf kick exchange. Despite the obvious damage, Prochazka chose to stand and trade rather than attack the compromised leg. That decision proved costly. As Ulberg struggled to stay upright, he landed a perfectly timed check left hook that dropped Prochazka, following up with ground strikes to secure the finish. It was a wild and controversial ending—Ulberg leaves as champion, but serious questions remain about how long he’ll be sidelined.

In the co-main event, Paulo Costa made a statement at 205 pounds, stopping Azamat Murzakanov via third-round TKO. Costa came out aggressive, attacking the body and legs while also landing an eye poke that affected the flow of the fight. Murzakanov rallied in the second with sharp boxing and forward pressure, but Costa adjusted in the third, returning to his kicking game before landing a fight-ending high kick.

At heavyweight, Josh Hokit shocked the division with a gritty unanimous decision win over No. 5 contender Curtis Blaydes. In a sloppy but thrilling battle, Hokit’s hand speed and toughness carried him through exhausting clinch exchanges and heavy shots. The undefeated prospect dug deep to secure the upset and likely earns a spot in the rankings. It was immediately announced on live stream by Dana White that Hokit will face Derek Lewis at the White House Card in June.

UFC 327 will be remembered for its unpredictable main event, breakout performances, and a night where toughness—and perhaps questionable decision-making—defined the outcomes.
