Back in the gym and ready for action after having sorted out his personal life Stephen “Scrappy Doo” Cervantes will be heading up to Grand Rapids , Michigan, to face a only once defeated home town favorite, in the main event of Knockout Promotions 51 “KOP 51”.
The foe is Michigan Top Team product Cody Stammann who’s on a 4 fight win streak , with 3 decisions, most recently having scored a 3rd round submission of Erick Vo. Taking the fight caused his expected bout with Nick Gonzalez to be cancelled. Cervantes was then scheduled to face Matt Bessette for a CES title, but found himself incarcerated. With that situation now resolverd an in the past, the number 2 ranked Bantamweight (ranking according to Tapology) in New Mexico looks to continue chasing his dream, of becoming a World Champion. Cervantes is a very good athlete with a wrestling base who seem-lousy transitioned to jiu jitsu, an continues to grow his striking arsenal.
