To kick off the prelims in the lightweight division Mitch Seybold vs. Jack Willoughby started off the night. Willoughby scored the first knockdown of the night, but it was Seybold who recovered quickly and dropped Willoughby twice via uppercuts on the second time he couldn’t recover. Seybold secured his victory with no doubts 1:23 into round number one. Dillon Winemiller vs. Mathew Maestas was the second fight on the preliminary card in round one, Winemiller came out throwing straight one-two punches down the line connecting eventually he cut an angle and found the chin of Maestas with a small check hook.

With two quick KO’S already in the books Marcus Edwards vs. Jay Jackson was the first fight to see the end of the first but ended at the bell with Edwards landing hard overhands and hooks dropping Jackson who couldn’t make his way to the stool right after the bell. Both fighters were connecting in the earlier part of the round but it was Edwards who showed he had more power and grit to come out victorious this Saturday. We then kicked off the main card with Gabrielle Roman vs. Khortni Kamyron early on both fighters were trying to find there pace, feeling each other out fighting from a distance Kamyron found some success landing one-two combos also using her jab to set up her punches. Roman did have some hard rights, and some counter punches land throughout the fight as she was trying to navigate Kamyrons offense.
We eventually went to the judges score cards even though both ladies scored knockdowns in round five. The judges had it scored (48-46,47-47,47-47) for a Majority Draw. The second fight on the main card had Colorado’s Mike Alvarado up against James Brown, Brown right away had a height and reach advantage and was able to cut Alvarado on top of his head messing with Alvarado’s vision very early in the fight. Brown continued to lead the dance throwing hard hooks and power straights in between rounds two and three the doctors called a stop to the fight due to Alvarado’s cuts and damage James Brown stays undefeated and earns another big win. Brandon Girtz and Christian Torres literally toed the line as they say in BKFC.
