UFC Vegas 93 Results, Taira Finds Unique way to Perez

Las Vegas Nevada, the performance brutal efficiency and the flyweight division has a new contender.

The main event of UFC Vegas 93 saw Tatsuro Taira stop Alex Perez in a way I’ve never seen before. After showing off a sharp jab-cross and strong Thai clinch in the first round Taira attacked his takedown. Taira quick to take Perez’s back the American getting to a vertical position with Taira on his back. Taira with both hooks in grapevine his right leg around Perez’s left leg while tying up Pere’z right wrist under his own arm pit. Taira then swung his body weight back causing a right leg injury to Perez who screamed out as he crumbled. After the win Taira, who will jump into the Flyweight top five, made his intentions clear, he wants Pantoja.

Wins in three of his last four fights has Miles Johns knocking on the door of the rankings after a decision win over Douglas Silva de Andrade. The Johns striking was on point as low kicks, jabs, overhand rights, and left uppercuts kept the hard hitting Brazilian off base. Andrade at moments in the third swing with all his might filling the final frame with tension.

Brazilian Lucas Almeida secured his second win in the UFC defeating Timothy Cuamba by unanimous decision. Almeida had a hot start to the fight as a pair of right crosses scored knockdowns. Ther Almedia right hands tearing open a gash under Cuamba’s left eye. The Las Vegas fighter had his best round in the third ending the fight on top but falling short of completing the comeback.

You can’t count Brady Hiestand out and he proved that once against sticking to his game plan of relentlessly wrestling. Garrett Armfield appeared to be closing in on a finish in the second sitting Hiestand down twice from a check left hook and a solid left down the pipe. Hiestand recovered and even took Armfield’s back. Hiestand would put Armfield on the fence, take the back and complete the comeback by rear naked choke.
