
BKFC Announces 2 Dates Including the Debut in a New Country
There is no off season in combat sports. The calendar keeps on rolling and the BKFX calendar for the end of the summer and beginning of fall is taking shape.
BKFC Fight Night Kansas City has been announced for Friday August 17th at Memorial Hall. The cards marquee fight will have pivotal title implications as number 2 ranked Welterweight Jake “The Gypsy” Lindsey squares off with number 4 ranked Elvin Brito.
Lindsey (4-1) won his first four Bare Knuckle fights all by knockout. The Kansas native returns to the ring for the first time since going the distance with Gorjan Slaveski for the then vacant BKFC title.
Brito (6-4) a former BKFC welterweight champion cut his teeth in Bare Knuckle all the way back at BKFC 3. Brito is 1-1 against the former pound for pound king Luis Palomino. And “El Bandio” is coming the best performance of his BKFC career knocking out Ja’For Fortt in 40 seconds.
It was also announced that the promotion will be putting on there first show in Marbella, Spain on October 12th. In the main event Argentina’s Franco Tenaglia will battle North Carolina’s Tony “Loco” Soto for the vacant BKFC Lightweight Championship.
Tenaglia (3-0) scored his first two wins by knockout. After a year away Tenaglia returned to BKFC in April beating former title challenger James Lilley by majority decision. Soto (6-0) has half of his won by stoppage but has went the distance in his last two defeating Tyler Goodjohn & Kevin Croom.
BKFC will be returning to Edmonton Alberta Canada for a Prospect Series event August 31st. BKFC 65 had been scheduled for September 6th in Salt Lake City, Utah, and its back to Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida for an event on September 13th.
