New Main Event set for UFC Edmonton

The announced Women’s Flyweight main event for November 2nd has been supplanted by a men’s flyweight, title eliminator.

The new main event for the UFC Fight Night in Edmonton will see number two ranked Men’s Flyweight Brandon Moreno against number three ranked Amir Albazi. The women’s Flyweight bout between former Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas & Erin Blanchfield is now slated to be the co-main event.

In February Moreno announced he was taking a sabbatical from the sport following a second split decision loss in a row. “The Assassin Baby” lost the UFC Flyweight title to Alexandre Pantoja & dropped a rematch with Brandon Royval. Mexico’s first UFC champion, has scored his last three wins with either interim or the world titles on the line. Moreno will look to prove that he still in his prime and remain in the title talk as he has been for the last four years.

Albazi is on a six-fight win streak. The 30-year-old, Iraqi has picked up his last five wins inside the UFC octagon. A 2022 knockout of Alessandro Costa propelled Albazi into his first UFC main event where he out pointed Kai Kara France for a split decision win. Albazi now look to add his first world champion to his resume and secure his first title opportunity.
