UFC 310 loses Welterweight Title Fight

UFC Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has been forced to withdraw from December’s title defense.

Muhammad had been scheduled to defend his title for the first time at UFC 310 in Las Vegas against Shavkat Rakhmonov.

Muhammad announced his withdrawal on social media. The Chicago-based fighter is dealing with a bone infection on a toe on his left foot. It’s expected that weeks on antibiotics will be required to clear up the infection.

At UFC 304 “Remember The Name” became champion dethroning Leon Edwards by unanimous decision.

Shavkat Rakhmonov’s unbeaten record comes with an exceptional hundred percent finishing rate. The 30-year-old from Kazakhstan at UFC 296 submitting Stephen Thompson. Early speculation is that Rakhmanov will remain on the December 7th card in an interim title fight against former champion Kamaru Usman.

The strong end of the year pay per view in Sin City has become a tradition for the industry’s leader in MMA. Fans have wondered allowed if UFC Light Heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will put his cape on. Pereira has already rescued the main events of UFC 300, UFC 303 and UFC 307 this year. The scenario of him doing it once again this calendar appears to be highly unlikely.
