
Welterweight Dominos force changes to UFC 310 & UFC Tampa
Injury has sideline UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad causing a domino effect of fight changes.
Belal Muhammad had been scheduled to make his first title defense in the main event of UFC 310 on December 7th against number three ranked contender Shavkat “Nomad” Rakhmonov. The fighter from Kazakhstan, who has all of his wins by stoppage will remain on the card now be facing fellow unbeaten, Ian “The Future” Garry from Ireland in a five round co-main event. To add to the drama the two have spent time training together at Kill Cliff FC in south Florida. Rakhmonov is 6-0 inside the octagon. “Nomad” is on a streak of submissions having forced his last three opponents Neil Magny, Geoff Neal, & Stephen Thompson to all tapout. Garry is 8-0 in the UFC. Garry was originally scheduled to face Joaquin Buckley in the main event of UFC Tampa on December 14th. Stepping in to replace Garry will be former interim champion Colby Convington, who’s challenged for the world title three times. Buckley is in a five-fight win streak coming off sleeping Stephen Thompson at UFC 307.
