BKFC has A New Bantamweight Contender after Usmonov Finishes Richardson in 1st

Bekhzod Umonov made a statement with his first full camp for BKFC. The Jacksonwink fighter knocked Richardson down for the first time with a right uppercut. On the restart Usmonov put Richarson’s back on the ropes firing out a flurry of awkward angles hooks and uppercut. A right hand on the jaw put Richardson down and skyrockets Usmonov into title contention.

Moving up ten pounds Donald Sanchez went with the strategy of utilizing his speed against the larger Harrison Akien.  Sanchez show fast hands cracking Akien with a right hand right off the bell for a quick knockdown. The right hand would return Harrison to the mat in the first. Sanchez would explode in and angled out. A right uppercut would collect the third knockdown for Sanchez as he cruised to a decision win.

Derrick Findley cut Felipe Chavez under his left eye in the early stages of the first round. Chavez dug deep and came back in the second round. Just as it appeared that Findley was wearing down, he shucked Chavez off of clinch and into the corner a succession of left hooks sitting down Chavez for the third-round knockout.

Wild doesn’t even start to begin Eric Dodson against Van Vo. Dodson exploding in while Vo looked to counter with flurries. Dodson knocked Vo back to the ropes to start the festival of knock downs. Vo would touch the mat once more in the first and came back to force Dodson to take a knee three time in the first round. Vo’s right hook scored two more knockdowns in the second and Dodson earned one. Dodson went back to blitzing in the third hitting Vo with a flurry of hook and crosses freezing Vo against the ropes for the knockout.

Murat Kilmetov & Lamont Stafford was an immediate fire fight. Kilmertov showed he can take it as well as give it eating a right hook and returning a left hook that sat down Stafford. Kilmetov smelling blood jumped all over Stafford, a right hook putting down Stafford for a 2nd and final time.

Bill Albrecht promised to use his length this time around and right off the bat he stuck Randy Fields with a jab. A left hook forced Fields to balance himself on the ropes and from there an Albrecht flurry collected his first knockdown. The fight didn’t continue for long. A perfectly placed counter right hook from Albrecht finished Fields.

In Bare-Knuckle one-shot can be all that’s needed and that was the case for Justyn Martinez who dropped Zay Garcia with a left hook. Garcia popped up to his feet to quickly a stumble was all the ref needed to see to waive off the bout.

Kyle McElroy attempted to anger Jay Jackson at the face offs with a slap. The tactic didn’t work as the two had a slow paced first two rounds highlighted by both swinging hard at the air. Jackson found his way to the inside on McElroy in the third, scoring two knockdowns off uppercuts. A giant gash over McElroy’s left eye led to a doctor’s stoppage.

The second time out was much different for Lorenzo Coca. This time Coca stayed long damaging Ruben Arroyo under his right eye. In the second round a left hook forced Arroyo to take a knee. After the second round the fight was stopped on the doctor’s advice due to the damage around Arroyo’s right eye.

The third time was the charm for Roderick Stewart as he got his allusive first win in BKFC. Stewart knocked down Bryant McClain three times in 76 seconds. The left hook of Stewart’s credited with his first and final knockdowns.
