
Giant Title Fight tops BKFC debut in Australia
The debut of BKFC down under will come with a headliner of colossal perorations.
The BKFC 79 main event will see Heavyweight champion “Big” Ben Rothwell attempt to become a double champ when he faces Alex Simon for the inaugural BKFC Super Heavyweight title.
BKFC 79 is set for Saturday July 19th at the RAC Arena in Perth Western Australia.
Rothwell a vet of more than 50 MMA fights transitioned to Bare Knuckle in 2022. The Kenosha native is 4-0 in BKFC with three first round knockouts. At Knucklemania 5 Rothwell it took Rothwell just 36 seconds to take the Heavyweight crown from Mick Terrill.
Alex Simon is an Australian powerlifting champion. Simon will make his Bare Knuckle debut with five fights on his resume a 1-1 mark in MMA to go along with a 1-2 record in traditional Boxing. He was last in the ring in 2023. It will be Simon’s debut in Bare Knuckle in front of his home country will a chance to make history.
In the co-main event Australia’s own “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings faces Jade Masson-Wong at Flyweight. Rawlings is a former Police Gazette Diamond Belt champion who’s coming off a win of Taylor Starling. This past September Masson-Wong’s three-fight win streak came to an end when she lost a split decision to Flyweight champion Christine Ferea.
