UFC 319 Quick Results

The UFC Returns to the Windy City with a Middleweight Title Fight for the Ages.

For the first time since UFC 238 in 2019, the Octagon returns to Chicago, Illinois, with UFC 319 taking over the United Center. At the top of the bill: a highly anticipated clash for the UFC Middleweight Championship, as South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis defends his title against Chechnya’s unbeaten powerhouse, Khamzat Chimaev.

Du Plessis arrived in the UFC as a former KSW champion, quickly making noise with back-to-back knockouts. After three quality wins, he began taking out top contenders—submitting Darren Till, stopping Derek Brunson via corner stoppage, and finishing Robert Whittaker to earn his shot at the belt. Since then, Du Plessis has twice outworked the relentless Sean Strickland and closed the book on a heated rivalry with former champ Israel Adesanya.

On the other side stands Chimaev, a fighter many have pegged as a future champion since his jaw-dropping start—three wins in his first four months on the roster. While health and weight issues slowed his momentum, a decision win over former welterweight king Kamaru Usman in 2023 reignited belief in his title potential. After battling through more health setbacks in 2024, Chimaev returned in dominant form, crushing Robert Whittaker with a statement-making submission to finally earn his first UFC title shot.

Elsewhere on the card, unbeaten featherweight contender Lerone “The Miracle” Murphy—ranked #6—welcomes Aaron Pico, a Bellator standout, to the Octagon in a high-stakes 145-pound showdown.
