Mean Machine Meets Silent Assassin in UFC Fight Night Main Event
Two of the UFC’s most exciting rising featherweights will clash in the main event of the November 1st UFC Fight Night.
In a five-round headliner, No. 12-ranked Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia will face off against No. 13-ranked David “Silent Assassin” Onama.
Garcia, a longtime member of New Mexico’s Jackson Wink MMA Academy, joined the UFC in 2020. As with many newcomers, it took him a few fights to adjust to the big stage and make the necessary changes to his regimen. But it’s all come together for the “Mean Machine,” who has now rattled off six straight wins. The first five of those came by knockout — three of them in the first round. Most recently, Garcia picked up the biggest win of his career, dominating longtime contender Calvin Kattar in a one-sided decision.
On the other side, Uganda’s Onama has made Missouri home since moving to the U.S. to chase his MMA dream. After starting his pro career 8–0, he earned his UFC shot. Though his first four Octagon appearances produced mixed results, they revealed raw potential that just needed sharpening. After a ten-month hiatus, Onama returned with a vengeance. He’s now riding a four-fight win streak, capped by a statement victory over veteran kickboxer Giga Chikadze — a win that earned him his spot in the rankings.
The winner of this matchup won’t just be knocking — he’ll be pounding on the door of the featherweight top 10.
