Palacios vs. Minjarez Happens at Genesis Combat Sports
Luttrell’s MMA’s Javier Palacios (3-0) will be heading to the lone star state this weekend to meet Javier Minjarez (4-2) at the Genesis Combat Sports event on Oct. 25 at the Abilene Civic Center in Abilene, Texas.
I find this fight really interesting as it was Minjarez who just last month withdrew from facing Palacios’s teammate Andres Quintana at Triple A MMA IX: Rock Solid, sighting he was quieting MMA to focus on school; according to sources close to the situation.
Palacios a Bellator vet, is coming off a on short notice, trip up a weight class, 1st round submission of then undefeated Desmond Hill; in July. This hard worker that started training to loose weight and then found power in his hands is always ready and looking to fight. Even though Palacios would rather trade leather his training has made him a double threat as both his stoppage win , one amateur and one pro have come via submission.
Minjarez last fought in June suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jarrett Rouse that ended a 3 fight win streak. Minjarez as a pro has shown of his striking with a pair of TKO wins in opposite of in his amateur career he scored 2 stoppages by submission.
