Fight Night Boston adds Browne – Mitrione & Boetsch – Herman

Heavyweights Travis “Hapa” Browne (17-3-1) and Matt “Meathead” Mitrione (9-4) will square off at UFC Fight Night “Dillashaw vs. Cruz”, on January 18th.

Browne who has 13 of 15 stoppage wins by knock out and 13 wins in the first round, will be looking to rebound from a UFC 187 knock out loss to Andrei Arlovski; in a fight that was a knock down drag out brawl. Mittrione has 8 of 9 wins by knock out with 5 finishes in the first round and will be looking to bounce back from a June, 1st round submission loss to Ben Rothwell.

Middleweight moving up to Light Heavyweight is what we will see when Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch (18-9) battles Ed “Short Fuse” Herman (22-11) at the TD Bank Garden in Boston, Mass. Boetsch dropped to 185 lbs. in 2011 and has since went 6-5, with a 4 fight win streak, but is currently coming off consecutive losses to Thales Leites (sub) and Dan Henderson (ko). Herman has fought at Middleweight for the majority of his career, but is 2-3 in his last 5 coming off a January TKO loss to Derek Brunson.

UFC Fight Night in Boston will see at the top of the card Former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “ShowTime” Pettis against former Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez. The nights feature attraction will see Dominick Cruz challenging TJ Dillashaw for the UFC Bantamweight World Title, that Cruz never officially lost; but had to vacate due to continuously being injured.
