3 New Mexico Fighters have Title Opportunities at Rocky Mountain Rubicon III
Top Shelf Entertainment LLC, presents Rocky Mountain Rubicon III, October 29th, at the Beckett Event Center in Fountain, Colorado. New Mexico will be well represented at the event including, Jordan Espinosa (8-4) battling Brett Roller (10-12) in the co-main event, with a Bantamweight title on the line.
Espinosa a member of Luttrell/Yee MMA and is undefeated in his last 5, coming off a 2nd round knock out of John Dirham from mid April. October 8th Espinosa was scheduled to face Jesus Urbina, but the bout was canceled just days before the event. Espinosa has found 5 of his 6 stoppage win by way of submission. Roller has a little more then 5 years more experience then Espinosa as a Pro fighter and has seen 15 of his fights end in the first round. Roller has all 10 his career victories via stoppage, with 9 submissions; now looking to rebound from a TKO loss to Dominic Montoya.
In a amateur Bantamweight title bout Slade Ring (3-3) of the JacksonWink Academy takes on Robert Trujillo (6-1) of Bloodline MMA. Ring has 1 TKO and 2 submission victories, including the 2014 Cagedminds.com amateur submission of the year. Ring is looking to bounce back from a WFF 28, split decision loss to Nolan Linebaugh. Trujillo has 5 of 6 wins by stoppage with 3 of them being submissions. Trujillo has rebounded from a decision loss to Ryan Fillingame, with wins over Ray Orosco (sub) and Ceasar Huizar (tko/ko).
In a amateur Flyweight bout Raton, New Mexico’s Christian Martinez (3-1) , meets Colorado’s own Adam Ludwig (1-0). Martinez is on a 3 fight win streak, that includes Knock outs of Michael Tiller and Devon Cox. Ludwig is coming off a 0:32 knock out of Jacob Bonnefoux.
